About the maker
Hello, my name is Karmen and I am from Hong Kong. I finished my master's degree in visual arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, where I specialized in leathercraft and design. From an early age, I have harbored a passion for creating objects with my hands. There is an indescribable joy in taking raw materials and transforming them into something beautiful and functional. This passion led me to pursue a career in leathercraft, where I meticulously craft unique and high-quality leather goods.
As an artisan and designer, I am constantly seeking new avenues to challenge myself creatively. I regularly experiment with various techniques and materials to create bespoke pieces that showcase my personal style and artistic vision.
In addition to my craft, I also derive great pleasure from teaching others about the intricacies of leathercraft. I offer bespoke private and group workshops for individuals of all ages, including secondary school students. It is immensely fulfilling to impart my knowledge and watch my students' creativity flourish.
When I am not creating, I enjoy exploring the diverse and vibrant city of Hong Kong, seeking inspiration for my craft. I participated in local exhibitions and collaborate with fellow artisans to broaden my skillset and expand my artistic horizons.
