About the Maker
Hi, I'm Karmen, the hands behind Ninox Leathercraft. I'm originally from Hong Kong, where I earned my master's degree in visual arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, specializing in leathercraft and design. I've been obsessed with making things by hand since I was a kid. There's nothing quite like taking a raw hide and turning it into something beautiful and built to last. That feeling is what turned my passion into a career.
As a maker and designer, I'm always looking for ways to push myself creatively, experimenting with new techniques and materials to create one-of-a-kind pieces with their own personality.
Beyond the workbench, I love teaching. I run private and group leathercraft workshops for all ages, from high school students to adults. There's nothing better than watching someone stitch their very first piece.
These days I'm based in Toronto, where I draw inspiration from the city's energy and creative community. I show my work at local exhibitions and love collaborating with fellow makers to keep learning and growing.
Every Ninox piece is designed and handcrafted by me. Made slowly, made well, and made to be carried every day.
